The themes and content running throughout the Turkish drama serials may be
the universal stories of class structures, gender oppression and romantic love
stories or tragedies, the problem that Pakistani audience have is of the WAY in
which they are being portrayed. The interviews we conducted showed that some of
the respondents were critical of the clothes worn by the actors and the
lifestyle portrayed.
However, a few respondents argued that these Turkish dramas were good
entertainment- which is why they were made. They preferred these shows because
they were a break from the typical Pakistani local shows that had monotonous
themes running through them like religion, love, marriage, family and failed
relations.
Turkish dramas do have certain themes running through the story line, but i think they too are monotonous at times.
ReplyDeleteI HATE THEM!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTurkish dramas, i think, have a high entertainment value. Such rich production and story line does sum up to good entertainment. But i think they attract the audience due the central theme running through the show
